Comcast.net Hacked

It appears that the operation of Comcast's portal servers have been "pwn3d" by a hacker.  Someone hacked into their Network Solutions account and www.comcast.net now resolves to various off-shore servers.  No word on whether the personal data of you Comcast users is at risk.

Where once Comcast's portal sat, users were instead greeted with the following text:

KRYOGENICS Defiant and EBK RoXed Comcast
sHouTz to VIRUS Warlock elul21 coll1er seven

The problem is impacting user access to the Comcast portal, webmail (obviously) and the official Comcast forums. Though there's no indication that user privacy is jeopardized, you may want to avoid using Comcast webmail until things have been completely cleared up. Comcast tells us they're aware of the problem.

Re: Comcast.net Hacked

Ha!  I thought something was up last night when I kept getting a Network Solutions - Page Under Construction for my Comcast home page.

Re: Comcast.net Hacked

He He - I just went to comcast.net and I'm getting greeted with the message "Hi, staatsch!" at the upper left.  Were I with Comcast, I'd be a little worried about my account security at this point.  I am not now nor have I ever been "staatsch."

I should hope so, but with Comcast you never know.  They've probably scheduled a truck roll for 8AM-4PM Monday.  roll

Re: Comcast.net Hacked

Oh CRAP  !!!!   I have been having problems with my comcast webmail for a few days now. I'm travelling and have been having problems. It's working fine right now, but I can't access comcast.net with my blackberry anymore.  Since I'm accessing my webmail OK with my laptop right now, maybe it's fixed. I've been accessing email off/on for the last three days..but today's it seems all better, again, except for the blackberry which I used the mobile portal for comcast.
