My First FiOS Outage Ever

After 1 year and a few days of service, I am in the midst of my first ever Verizon FiOS outage.  Effecting TV only right now.  Call to the help line indicated about 3000 customers in my area are effected.

Hope its up by Big Brother, or I'm going to have to try and get my old antenna working.

Re: My First FiOS Outage Ever

For the record, I'm now back up.  Total Outage: about 6 hours.  Had to go the analog antenna route - wasn't pretty, and won't be an option after 2/2009

Re: My First FiOS Outage Ever

Frank, you should get one of the Fed coupons for the digital/analog converter, just for emergency backup.

I was thinking the same thing.  I think I'm going to do that.

Theoretically, you don't qualify for one of the coupons if you have any cable or FiOS service to your house. Whether you still use an antenna option makes no difference if you have alternative services.  That qualification rule, of course, may possibly get abused by a number of people.

Re: My First FiOS Outage Ever

I'll have to go back and read the fine print, but in the meantime I found that I could pick up clear digital signals with rabbit ears in an area where I had no hope of picking up a good analog signal.
