Re: New Software/Firmware for Comcast Motorola DVRsI found that Comcast had updated my Motorola DVR software around the beginning of September. I have noticed two changes. Offline #10 10-21-2008 10:17:17 AMRe: New Software/Firmware for Comcast Motorola DVRsI received the A25 update Wednesday, 10/15. The time extension option (which you can and could previously do for any recording by modifying it prior to recording) appears for any "live" program. The transport function response to the remote appears to have been fixed, but I mostly use the 30-second skip and 15-second rewind, which still work. There are new 5-minute advance (page up) and rewind (page down) functions, which may be useful on rare occasions. The search is a bit easier to use (but I wish it would include OnDemand programs). Others have reported problems with green vertical lines appearing on the display, but so far I haven't seen any new bugs. If they were to activate eSATA for disk expansion I would actually now be satisfied with the DVR. Offline #11 10-21-2008 11:11:38 AMRe: New Software/Firmware for Comcast Motorola DVRs
If Uverse comes to my neighborhood...I'm there the day it arrives. Offline #12 10-24-2008 2:06:22 PMRe: New Software/Firmware for Comcast Motorola DVRsAnother great feature that was added ... if you're in the Guide and press the Guide button again, it shows the upcoming schedule for just the selected channel. For example, I like to watch TCM a lot. If you're in the Guide on TCM and press the Guide button again, it shows all of the upcoming TCM shows and you can easily scroll through 2 weeks worth of shows. Alas, for me, the queuing problem returned yesterday. I was using down-arrow key to scroll thru the guide. It stopped scrolling..I hit down a few more times...nothing...then BAM....it scrolled as if queued up. Offline |
