I forgot to mention the above timeframe is for the 2 test markets only right now, I'm sure there is more planned but I'm not  part of those markets therefore dont get planning and development dates that far in advance

I'm a Denver area customer, and I hereby volunteer to "test" this if you need an impartial tester (hint, hint).  Glad to hear this is being tested for implementation.  I am eagerly anticipating this.   

Yep at this point its gonna be a new core to the motorola software any addons/plugins will be slighty altered to work with motorola's new build but no huge changes are planned at this time ( at least that I know of) we just added discount codes in our software for customers that take part in a satisfaction survey to give them a free month of whatever programming/services they have but the actual survey has not even gone to planning stage yet and who knows if they will actually take any of the ideas/suggestions they get.

I'm assuming this is just Motorola's software and nothing to do with the i-Guide.  Correct?

Also OCAP is going to be deployed in a few key headends such as Philly and NNJ where I am.

I can pretty much say for certain at least 3 markets will have it by the end of the year there is 4 major rollouts planned for this year the two that are in the works have to be done in 3 markets before we can move on theres a multi million dollar deal with sprint in the works for a new service I cant mention but multi room capability has to be working first so as to not get fined per the contract, multi room will be running in 3 markets by the start of the 4th quarter I know there has been delays in the past on services and product launches and I dont doubt the other 2 will be late but I have faith that multi room and the sprint service will be out by the 4th quarter at least in 3 areas.

I would be surprised to see Multi Room capabilities this year.  In my area they are implementing OCAP and possibly using the Panasonic DVR.

Some seem up beat that the new i-Guide and TiVo will be out this year.  I would venture to guess that if that happens Multi Room would not be included at first.

TiVo's Multi Room utilizes Ethernet and Comcast's approach is utilizing the existing RG6/RG59 cable in the house.

Comcast has a lot on their plate.  This isn't in priority but close.  This is what they are working on:

1. Get all head ends to at least 750 MHz
2. Deploy Digital Simulcast.
3. Free up or add Bandwidth to allow for:
More VOD Streams
Higher Internet speeds
More Digital and HD channels
More services
4. Deploy Digital Voice
5. Implement OCAP
6. TiVo Guide & I-Guide update
7. i-Guide 2.0 (Mosaic/VRN)

And some place in here is get Adelphia in the mix.
