Re: comcast dvr problemsCapDVHS, press play on the box, comes out slow as i said, no problems on any other channels. comp is a p4 3.4ghz 1gb ram Last edited by ravenli666 (05-13-2006 9:11:31 PM) Offline #6 05-13-2006 9:53:00 PMRe: comcast dvr problemsI'm not sure what you mean by "comes out slow." After you've captured the file, is it in slo-mo when you replay it? I'm never able to monitor the capture in real time, but it's OK when I replay it. Try using VLC Media Player to monitor the real time output. Offline #7 05-13-2006 9:55:46 PM

Re: comcast dvr problemsjust tryed espnhd and its fine. Offline #14 05-14-2006 2:35:48 AMRe: comcast dvr problemsI recorded short files of ABC, ESPN, and NBC HD, and had trouble playing back ABC with Windows Media Player. However, I had even more trouble with ESPN and VLC Media Player. When I used the program I normally process the files with (VideoReDo), they all played perfectly. Offline #15 05-14-2006 9:37:40 AM

I've used the following (free) tools in the past to process (take out commercials, etc): Offline #18 05-14-2006 12:54:22 PMRe: comcast dvr problemsI went to the Videoredo as a last resort, because I wanted to be able to edit the mpeg2 files. I also use MPEG2Repair and have used HDTV2MPEG2, and I'll have to check out the other tools Frank recommends. Maybe they'll also do what I want. Offline #19 05-14-2006 1:23:53 PMRe: comcast dvr problemsThe later versions of HDTV2MPEG2 have a commercial scan option, which automatically "Excludes" commercial breaks (based on finding 4:3 aspect ratio sections in a 16:9 show) from your cuts.
