Comcast keeping up with their own system?
So I called Comcast today and asked how close they are
to turning on OnDemand and the new channels. The answer was
that we already have OnDemand. I just grunted and hung up.

Pittsburg is in an bandwidth-constrained portion of the Bay Area Comcast system (a 550 MHz system, rather than 750 or 860). this is a well-known issue, albeit quite unfair for those like ghoofie in the constrained areas. None of the constrained areas received the three HD channels that were added to Bay Area Comcast last week. I suspect it affects OnDemand as well.

They are putting in new cable and we are supposed to be getting OnDemand and some new channels. The initial date was in April, then we got a mailer that said they are behind and it would be sometime in May. May isn't over yet.

As far as I know, they're all in Delaware. Still probably don't know the difference, though.
Am I wrong? Are there regional support centers?

A few times, when I called to report a problem on a specific channel, I was talking to someone local to the Bay Area. I can't remember exactly where they said they were, but they were able to try the channel I was complaining about, and verify that there was a problem with it.
I don't know if every time I call I get someone local.

Well the very nice Comcast rep on the phone just told me we aren't getting updates until END OF SUMMER... When I explained I got a mailer saying April, then another mailer saying May, she said Nope...End of summer at the earliest and maybe not even then. She told me they have lots of cabling to do. They did my neighborhood already. Oh..so maybe you'll get it sooner, she says. And adds, that's all we know.

i wish you good luck, as you deserve to be upgraded. it's been a long time coming for many customers with outdated systems.

I keep forgetting to mention here that yeh we don't have OnDemand yet and the additional channels but I DO have two channels that are listed as included in packages that I do not have.
They are one feed of Encore and Lifetime Movie. We aren't supposed to get those.
Commtech you out here buddy ? Any comment on that ? Why I would be getting two stations I'm not supposed to get ? (ssssshhh...everyone...don't tell Comcast on me !!!!!!) LOL
