Getting close..
There are workers digging and pulling lots and lots of cable near my street.
They had lots of street even blocked off. I didn't that it would take all that
just to give us on-demand and a few more channels, which no one will watch.

They are probably replacing the cable to allow more bandwidth. Many older systems could only handle 500-600MHz. Newer ones go up to 800 or 850MHz. In Chicago (just the city itself so far), they are dropping all enhanced analogs, and possibly ALL analogs (reports have been conflicting.) That's probably because it's cheaper for them than replacing alot of cable in tons of apartments and other areas. Not to mention all the extra revenue from the extra boxes (you get ONE free box, but no new channels.)

So let's see.. Orginal date for OnDemand, Mid-April. Revised to End of May. Got a postcard today that says end of June. It's almost funny now.

Got a brochure today that says OnDemand and the new channels will be on June 19.
Just days away... Being the skeptic I am with Comcast, I expect to get a followup
that it delayed, still.

Just keep trying channel 1 each day.... Although I assume you already do.

Yep. I sho' do. I also have try some of the new channels to see if they snuck
any of them on early. So far, nada. But I'm hoping they do by Tuesday, because
I want to record the Daytime Emmy Redcarpet coverage replay to see my daughter
at work. It's on Soapnet and that's supposed to be one of the new channels. And it'll
probably be the only time I watch it until next year when the show is on again.

Here, they announced several sports channels for the Sports package (Tennis, Sportsman, College Sports.) The Tennis channel showed up early and unencrypted. Presumably because of the French Open they are airing. They are not officially here until the 27th (when NFL TV also moves to the Sports package.)
Also, Chicago area users have been reporting messages that HD versions of FoodTV, HGTV, National Geographic, and A&E are coming July 18. I haven't seen the message here yet.

Yep...I was too busy going thru the schedule. It's here !! Watched a Thomas Kinkade gallery while I sipped my morning coffee. Pretty cool.

The guide was still downloading. But looks like the new channels were all there. Actually, when I went through the new channel lineup card they sent in the mail, we got more than I originally thought, such as TNT HD and A&E HD. I can watch the Sopranos on A&E HD now. They are starting season 4 this week.
