Insurance Shopping

Anyone care to comment on experiences with auto and home insurance companies ?
Such as Geico, Ameriprise (Costco), Esurance, etc.
I'm shopping for both.

We've got Geico for car insurance. Never (knock wood) needed to file a claim, but their telephone customer service is good and the price was pretty good for the coverage we have.

Yeah  Geico has them all beat in price.  They are rated A++  by A.M. Best. I've been looking at lots of reviews on them regarding claims. That's when an insurance company counts. People either love them or hate them. But I find, as is the case with lots of reviews on anything, more people who are negative about things are the ones that post reviews. They look for places to complain. People who like something, don't (as often) post positive reviews.
I try to post positive reviews on things when I can for that reason.
