Yearly Comcast price increase in Chicago
After leaving DirecTV sometime in 2005 I've been hit with a yearly price increase of typically $10 every January from Comcast. Looks like this year they want it early because I just got notice in my Oct bill that my bill will be going up $9 in December. I'm out and am going back to DirecTV, this is a total joke! It would be different if they gave me something for the price increase.

I'd heard rumors about this, although I'd assumed it would be prior to December. Sorry to hear that.
I'll be interested to hear if they pull this on areas where Verizon is gaining a foothold.
What are some old / new prices on the sheet? How big of an increase is it?

Here are the details frm my bill
Basic & Exp. Basic ($52.49 to $54.99)
Digital Classic ($11.99 to $14.99)
Digital Preferred ($14.99 to $15.99)
DVR Service ($11.99 to $13.99)
non-HD DVR Service ($5.99 to $8.99)
Digital Preferred with 3 Premiums ($94.99 to $99.99)
Basically I got hit with the ($94.99 to $99.99) and the DVR ($11.99 to $13.99) x 2. This is the third year in a row I've seen a $9-$10 increase. I could deal with it, if there was a $9-$10 increase in my service... I've gotten a couple new channels, but that's about it. 
Oh in my area besides Comcast there is no other competition. I have satellite or cable. AT&T finally got state approval to start rolling out their U-Verse IPTV product, but it's probably a year+ out (if they even hit my area). So really right now Comcast has no competition in my area.

Interesting. Around here, DVR went up from 9.95 to 11.95 last January when Digital Silver went from 80.25 to 85.05 . Now they're raising the DVR to the $14 range nationally?
I'll be interested to see if they pull this in FiOS areas. AT&T seems to be a bum product in my view, Verizon and satellite are the real direct competitors.

Here I thought I was the only one who hated Comcast. Now I have found this site and a few others (Comastmustdie.com)
I too am tired on the annual increases and here in Bolingbrook there is no alternative. More and more channels are moving up above 100 and so I will need converter boxes for all my TV's ( all for an extra cost per month.
My Bill went up $14 in December and no one can explain why.
The customer service sucks and asking the same question 3 times gets 3 answers. Don't even try their on-line live chat.
I need high speed Internet so I am stuck I cant even get decent DSL
I feel better - I vented!
