Maybe Her Dog's A Conservative

http://www.nydailynews.com/img/2007/10/17/asm_randi_rhodes.jpg

When word of the alleged brutal mugging of little-heard Liberal talk show host Randi Rhodes broke, the loony left was quick to fall into form and concoct a bunch of wild conspiracy theories.

Fellow host Jon Elliott claimed on the liberal radio network that Rhodes had been mugged while walking her dog, Simon, on Sunday night. Elliot, who said Rhodes lost several teeth in the attack, waxed about a possible conspiracy.

"Is this an attempt by the right-wing, hate machine to silence one of our own?" he asked on the air, according to Talking Radio, a blog. "Are we threatening them? Are they afraid that we’re winning? Are they trying to silence intimidate us?"

[...]

"What the %$#$ is WRONG with you people?? Are you that SICK in the head that just because you don’t agree with someone’s political views you believe that they deserve to be mugged? Are you on the right that DEMENTED??," a blogger called neddlenosehanty posted on watchingthewatchers.org.

Turns out the bim just fell down while walking her dog.  Maybe he was pissed she stole his canine look.  She lost a few teeth apparently.  Seems she has plenty of those giant tombstones floating around in her mouth to compensate.

Holy sh!t... that's crazy.  Shows just how polarized the left is becoming which going to alienate those in the middle who aren't too happy with the right either.

It seems more and more that:  liberal = paranoid conspiracy theorist.

A plague on both their houses.  I find it more reasonable to evaluate each issue on its merits and leave the labels to the fringe elements.

While no one is 100% one side or another side, things are what they are whether you choose to apply a label to them or not, and labeling someone from a self-described "Liberal Talk Radio Network" as a liberal hardly seems out of line.

Do most informed folks not associate more closely with one ideology than the other?

I'm not so much objecting to labels as I am refusing to wear one.  On some issues I lean one way, and on others I lean the other way.  Sometimes I'm just confused, and tread neutral water until I drift one way or the other.  The zealots I've known on both sidea would not do that, and are 100% to one side.  Maybe your acquaintances are more balanced than mine.  wink
