Newbie Signs On
After 7-years with DirecTV, I have switched to Comcast. I still love the quality and programming options over at D*TV but, when I moved, they would not install the new slim-line dish at my apartment. It’s a long story. My only real options were Comcast or Dish. I am going to sample the services and quality of Comcast for one-year to see how I like it. I should be picking up my DCT-6412 tomorrow.

In most circumstances, I know the user guide by heart BEFORE I have an electronic device in my house. This time, the decision to switch providers was made quickly. That said, I’m sure I’ll be back frequently looking for help.
By the way, I found the board via a Google search for “comcast dvr.”

That's probably correct. I've never figured out exactly what the rules are (after all, it's the FCC), but there has to be some reason Comcast gave me a DCT700 free for a year.
