5 new HD channels coming to Chicago

Tomorrow (12/6), Discovery HD will be added.
Next Thursday (12/13), USA-HD and CNN-HD will be added.
In January, SciFi-HD and TLC-HD will be added.

How many HD channels will you have after those are added?  We're supposed to get NGC, History, plus USA & A&E (big deal) tomorrow, which will make 25, including the useless ones.

The city of Chicago itself dropped all analog expanded basic. I think basic broadcast and local access are still available as analog.

Here in Schaumburg (NW suburb of Chicago), I have 28 HD channels as of today (although I don't access to all of them). Presumably up to 32 next month.

Andy I found Discovery HD today on channel 218.

Got no message from Comcastic about the new channel though roll

I noticed after this reboot that the main menu screen is a bit different. They moved the local weather link back to the first page, and there is only one item on the second page. I can't remember what was dropped.

No new HD channels in Atlanta in a loooong time.  We don't have any of the ones listed in the first post (or History) or any news/announcements of forthcoming additions.

A message a few days ago mentions that two analog channels are moving. Channel 3, which carries Comcast Network (local programming) will disappear, as it's already duplicated as 100 (the channel uses the name CN100). 96, which is 'leased access' (commercials), will move to 114. And they'll add 'Cable Marketplace 1' to channel 110 (oddly, we already have Cable Marketplace 2).

That should free up room for 4-6 HD channels (yes, we already have one frequency with 3 HD's on it!)

SciFi HD showed up today with no warning on channel 177. Some audio issues right now (cuts out for a second every once in awhile). It's frequency is shared with two other new HD channels (USA and Discovery). Like USA, they do not stretch, and only show SciFiHD when airing HD. For SD, it's pillarboxed with the regular logo inside the 4:3 area (basic upconvert from their SD feed.)

I noticed today that they added WCIU HD, I don't no when it got added but now when the Bulls, W.Sox  or the Cubs are on the "U" I will be able to make out the uniforms.

The Learnling Channel HD (TLCHD) also showed up for me on 176 without any notice in the last couple of days.  I wonder what's next?

Animal Planet-HD is supposed to come soon.

With two analogs dropped, and most of the 'west' feeds from movie channels dropped, there is room for alot of channels.

I noticed that when they added WCIU, they only paired it with WPWR and moved Mojo to another frequency. Maybe they are learning that tripling up the HD's is causing problems. Scifi/Discovery/USA is still a mess.

Forgot to mention Disney HD and ABC Family HD were added April 1st (no fooling!) Thankfully, neither uses Stretch-O-Vision.

One site mentioned Science Channel HD is the triple for those two, but it's not on the guide yet.

What's left for Chicago to get other than the Science Channel HD?  Does anyone know what HD stations have been launched in other regions that haven't hit us yet?
