USA in HD ?
So Comcast recently added USA HD to our lineup here. But I never see anything listed as being in HD.
I now have two USA channels, one 'regular' (as we've add forever) and now the HD. The HD is the
eastern time feed, but is there ever anything actually in HD ? TitanTV doesn't even find USAHD to add to my channel lineup.

Monk and Psych are filmed in HD. You can see older episodes of Monk on UHD. I would hope the HD versions will show up on USA-HD when their seasons start up early next year.
For those that have it, how do they treat non-HD material? Is it pillarboxed or stretched?

I just noticed that for the upcoming Monk episode, Dec. 7:
TVPlanner (comcast) says HD, but the IGUIDE does NOT.
So I guess we'll see....HOWEVER... while I can tell the difference
between 'regular' and digital broadcasts...since my TV is the rear proejction
and not as clear as LCD or Plasma, sometimes I'm not sure if I'm REALLY
watching HD or just 'plain' digital. They look similar on my rear
projection.

Just got HistoryHD here. I'll move some of my scheduled recordings to it when they get the stupid guide updated. It still has no channel name or programming listed.
Sadly, SD appears to be in Stretch-O-Vision©.

I didn't know Comcast had USA in HD. Anyone in the Philly area have it?
EDIT: I guess if you like wrestling, isn't WWE Raw on USA now?

Here in Metro Atlanta (Gwinnett Comcast) we just got some HD channels added:
CNN-HD
Discovery
USA
History
Animal Planet
Sci-Fi
That brings our total of available HD channels up to over 30 channels.
Channel listing and program guide info has not yet shown up on my S3 Tivo, but I can tune to the channels.
Hopefully, Tivo will add the program info soon.

How do Sci-Fi and Animal Planet handle non-SD programming? Do they stretch it like History does (between that and inconsistent HD, a MAJOR disappoint for one of my favorite channels), or keep it pillarboxed like a proper channel should?
Here in Chicago, we are supposed to get SciFi and TLC next month. No word on AP.

Did you get FSN?
Have not found FSN, but there are a few channels that show up blank (meaning the Tivo has gotten some change on the cablecards)...maybe something happening soon.
The other new HD channels we now have:
834 - CNN
840 - Discovery
842 - USA
852 - History
861 - Animal Planet
874 - Sci-Fi

I'm assuming you meant non-HD.
Sci-Fi is showing non HD programming with pillar-boxing, with a very good digital picture.
Animal Planet....don't know yet. So far all I've seen has been all true HD content. (only discovered this channel this afternoon)
History....alas, it looked like you described, stretched picture. Haven't seen any HD stuff yet.

The TV guide does not always say HD. You just have to look and see. Thats true of any channel.

Andy: From what I've read, UHD is showing Monk stretched.
We're picking up Monk, having missed it the first time around. It's in SD on USA HD.... I was wondering if this was mistake, or perhps were the first few seasons (or all) of Monk only presented in SD?

On the WWE thing - no WWE shows are currently in HD, although they are going to do their first ever HD broadcast with the upcoming Royal Rumble in a couple of weeks. Then Smackdown! is slated to start HD broadcasts in Feb and Raw ultimately following behind. . . .
