What can I do with this DCT 6412 from Comcast?

One of my tenants literally threw out her DCT 6412 III from Comcast when she moved out. (I guess she didn't mind paying the fee.)  I took it home.  I'd love to be able to use the DVR function.  Is there anything I can do with it?  I don't have comcast, I have Brighthouse.  Are there any jumper pins, internal component mods, etc that I can try?

Turn it over to Comcast.  Not much you can do with it yourself, and it does belong to them.

For the box to work, it has to be activated by Comcast via cable connection.  For them to do that, you have to have a Comcast subscription.
Call 'em and tell them they are welcome to come and get it.
