You won't believe this one.

Well...this IS Comcast...you surely will believe it.
I have Dresden Files on Scifi scheduled to record
last night at 11PM. Before retiring, I checked my scheduled
recordings to see if all is well.  Dresden showed up as
recording twice, same channel, same time.  So I deleted
one. They both disappeared.  So I scheduled it to record again.
You guessed it.  They both reappeared.  Well I had nothing
else scheduled so I left it.  Then curiousity got the best of me.
I waited til 11pm to see what would actually happen.
Only one side started recording.

This morning when I arose, I noticed the red recording light
on my DVR.  So I turned on TV.  Nothing was recording anywhere.
However on my recorded programs I had about six Dresden files
showing.  One was almost three hours long. The others were all
one minute. I played one of the one minute ones. Nothing happened.
System didn't lock up at least . So I went to my recordings, deleted
all the one minute ones. Played the LONG one. Seemed OK but
I didn't have time to see how long it actually is.

THEN...when I stopped the play and exited the menu....THE
RED RECORDING LIGHT CAME ON the  box !!!!!!!!
I immediately went to Myrecordings. It showed DRESDEN FILES
being record (which was not even on).  So I stopped, deleted it.
Exit.... the REC appeared on my box with no red light, as if
it was recording the channel I was viewing.   I hit exit a few
times and everything seemed normal when I left for work.

Whew......

Re: You won't believe this one.

A little addendum.  This week I was recording Dresden Files again on Sci-Fi.  The record red light was on like normal during the time the program was on.  I noticed about 3 or minutes after the end of the program, the red light was still on.  So I swapped.  Sure enough the program was indeed over and Battlestar was now on. I checked my recording settings to see if I had it set to run over, but didn't.  I let it go a few minutes longer. Still recording.  So I stopped it manually. This time it didn't start recording again, it stopped.  Yep...it's a Sci-fi thing.  Surely, it isn't the DVR's problem.
