Recording everyday - Mon. to Fri.?

Can't figure out how to record a series - doesn't seem to work.  I've tried! I want to record 'All My Children' every day and it seems I can only get one day. Is it possible?

I think I like either Blake or Jordan for American Idol and You?

I can fast forward through commercials - but I can't seem to make it stop after the commercial.  Any Tips?

Your 'stupid' friend,
Kaye

Re: Recording everyday - Mon. to Fri.?

For series recordings,  don't just find the program in the guide and hit the record button, instead, hit the enter button which will bring up some options about recording. I think on the bottom of that box it says 'series recording'.  It will have the red dot and ))) after it. Select that and you will get different options, such as new listings only, this channel only, and such. Caution: some people don't like using 'series' recording.  Comcast system sometimes seems to have problems with it.  I do use it, but not all that much. Because some networks don't display the new vs repeat information in a way that the comcast software recognizes, so it records the program everytime it comes on.  You 'll learn by trial/error which ones work ok and which ones don't.

I'm by far any kind of expert on all this,  so others may chime in with better info.

For fast forwarding... I programmed my harmony remote to do 30 second skips. Helps some. But when fast forward, just hit play again when the commercials stop.

There are lots of friends here, but none of them are stupid, including you.  You're just new.  In no time at all, you'll be giving me advice !!  smile   Trust me , you will !!

Enjoy and ask away !!

O. K. I think I understand what you said!  I tried it!  I guess it will take a few days to see if that works or not.

I think I did it - all thanks to you.  It shows a series recording.  I won't be home to watch tomorrow - we'll see!  I would have been really p**sed if it had been the episode that Louis Van Amstel was on!
