On a lighter note

This is not a bug..so it's posted here.
Last night I'm watching program and I have a recording set for American Idol.
I was watching a movie 'live' on another channel.  At 8pm, the start time
for AI, I expected the little red recording light to appear as it starts recording
AI. Instead, I got the channel change notice to start recording AI on the 'side'
that I was watching live.  So I had to say yes to swap to record, then channel swap
to the other 'side' and put on the channel for the movie I was watching.

Why wouldn't it leave what you are watching alone and change the channel on the
'other side ' and start recording there ?  Sometimes it DOES do that. So I guess the
box determines what side to record on ahead of time ?

A minor irritant...but I missed about 30 seconds of the movie I watching...  wink

Re: On a lighter note

When did you swap tuners? The decision as to which tuner to use is made 60 seconds before the recording starts. If you swap tuners after the decision, it will change on you.

It just caught me by surprise. Just don't get why if you are only gonna record one program, the recorder has to record it on the 'side' that you are currently watching. It should just start the recording on the 'side' not active at the time.
