6412 Series I doing its best "I have a fan" impression...I know there is not a fan in this wonderful series 1, so how come all of sudden it sounds like there is one? Could this signal the beginning of the end for my beloved "original" 6412 DVR?? I gather its the hard drive running full time? It is working fine otherwise. Any one else experience this type of behavior? Offline #2 07-11-2007 11:58:45 AMRe: 6412 Series I doing its best "I have a fan" impression...The Hard Drive in my old Phase I 6412 used to vibrate and make a grinding sound when it overheated. That's how I wound up with a USB powered inverted laptop cooler on top to draw out the heat. Online
