Western Digital has released a 500Gb eSATA drive that is says is compatible with Series3 TiVos and TiVo HD. The drive is being sold through TiVo's online store as well as at Best Buy locations.

eSATA storage expansion became an officially-supported function on Series3 TiVo and TiVo HD yesterday, although it was previously possible to add an external eSATA drive to Series3 TiVos via the use of a simple series of remote control key presses.

The popular TiVo-to-Go and Multi-Room viewing options, previously available on Standard Definition Series2 TiVos, also went live on their High Definition counterparts yesterday.

UPS delivered my new "expansion" drive about 3:30 today. It was up and running by 4:00 (It requires a couple of reboots). Working perfectly so far.
System Info now reads 98 Hours HD, and 927 Hours SD (not that I'll be putting much standard def on the S3).

My only gripe was that the eSata cable supplied was only about 3' long, limiting location, but I managed to make it all fit.
