Should Google Index Scam Sites?

Should Google Index Scam Sites?

PC MAGAZINE
- The recent string of discount electronics scam sites has once again raised the question: do Google and other search engines have a responsibility to vet their content?

Historically, the answer has been no.

But the problem also attacks Google's weak spot: its reliance on automated processes.

Last week, PC Magazine readers reported that a site called Yourdigitalelectronics.com appeared to be a scam site. Although the red flags seemed pretty obvious – a minimum order is required, no credit cards are accepted, and funds must be wired to an address in Italy – it appears that dozens of people either paid hundreds of dollars to the site on the hope that they would get something for... well, almost nothing.

I find it hard to believe these people sent one cent to any of these scammers!  I guess there's one born every minute... and they have Internet access.
