Verizon Out of HD Equipment

I've been reading here and there for a couple weeks now that Verizon FiOS is out of all High Definition equipment (DVRs and non-DVR boxes) and will remain out of stock until at least mid-March.

Now, it's hit the Wall Street Journal.

This is a disaster for Verizon. They sell themselves as the service of the future, yet all they can offer their (non-TiVo) customers is equipment of the past.

Verizon FiOS is, hands down, the best television service I have ever had. Between the picture quality, the reliability and the price, it's not even a competition. But hitting this snag in this stage of their development is a total train wreck.

Re: Verizon Out of HD Equipment

It's not just Verizon. I think they use the Motorola? There have been posts of people complaining they can't get HD boxes from Comcast, either.
