Jordin Sparks' Vocal Chord Hemorrhage
American Idol number 6 Jordin Sparks has cancelled upcoming performances because of "an acute vocal cord hemorrhage condition" according to a press release issued by one of the venues where she planned to perform.
The release…says that "Sparks has been ordered to strict vocal rest and will not be able to perform anywhere until her condition improves."
I was able to find this description of the condition on Google:
Vocal cord hemorrhage results when one of the blood vessels on the surface of the vocal cord ruptures and the soft tissues of the vocal cord
fill with blood. It is considered a vocal emergency and is treated with absolute voice rest until the hemorrhage resolves.
