Three great performances from David Cook showing him to be a musical artist. The thinking man's Daughtry. Three predictable, smarmy and sappy performances from David Archuleta showing him to be a Star Search reject who will sell less records than Taylor Hicks. One weird boxing motif.

Three judges in the tank for the fidget. Maybe Simon was trying to curse Archuleta like he did Carly.

I was so disgusted, I downloaded DialIdol and used it to vote 688 times for David Cook.

It may be wishful thinking, but Cook wins.

I was getting so tired of the ridiculous boxing metaphors that it was hard to stay focused on the performances. Apparently the judges tuned out, too. I can't recall any previous final with such blatant pimping by them (except Paula, who has always been irrelevant). They're going to show up tonight feeling either very guilty or very embarrassed.

Preliminary indications are that nobody paid any attention to the judges, other than by reacting against them.

I don't prefer Archie over Cook...but if past weeks voting was close between them, and Cook doesn't have enough fan base to vote for him no matter what, I think Archie won it. As Frank did above, the Cook fans needed to be out in force last night, those on the fence are gonna vote Archie.

Me and the wife voted for Cook a few times. My fifteen year old daughter voted for him so many times last night I lost count. Maybe David A isn't as strong with the teeny boppers as I thought. Every time he sang my daughter winced.

Dial Idol has Cook winning by a descent margin. We can only hope.
