Someone has, I've just taken advantage of it. One person's obscure is another person's well-rounded and diverse. I actually think I've targeted some good searches and sources.
Generally message board users post news items or discussion topics that they'd like the message board's other users to comment on. That's still an option, too. Any of the boards other 1,145 users are free to post any article they like as well. 
The last thread started by anyone other than me in the "Cable Industry News" area, for example, was from July. It was April before that.
