Using 2 Motorola Signal Boosters on one line?

Anyone have any experience with this?  I'm currently using 1 which improved the signal a lot, but I'm still not getting the best signal and experiencing some pixelization at times.  The coax is split twice out of necessity before getting to the box, which explains the weaker signal.

Thanks for any info or suggestions.

Do you know what your signal levels are to begin with?

I'm not at the box right now, but yes I have been monitoring the levels on the Diagnostic menu.  Without looking seeing the quantitative levels at this moment, I can tell you that the qualitative levels on both tuners have been FAIR and POOR on the digital channels (which was a step up from INVALID before adding the first booster).

Re: Using 2 Motorola Signal Boosters on one line?

Well, I would have some questions:

Is the wiring old?  Have you checked every connection to see if they are tight.  Make sure any splitters are rated to 1 GHz.  Make sure all ports are used if you have a splitter.  Do not leave any cable or port open.  Either get the correct splitter or at the very least a 75 Ohm Terminator for the unused port.  Have you had your Cable Co. out to look at your problem?  You probably have many Uncorrectable errors.   In other words... Tiling.

A Motorola signal booster will increase the signal by +15 db but will also boost ingress or noise.  I would not add another booster.  Check your cables, splitters, and connections.  If nothing is obviously wrong then get your Cable Co. to look at it.  Get them out anyway.

I have had to get Engineering to come out to look at my issues.  The standard tech they send is typically not qualified to do anything more than connect an STB.

Thanks.  I reviewed another post that also gave good info on quality splitters and wiring, so will check on that when I get home.

Another off-question... Apparently I can now call Comcast and get them to register my box to start receiving ADS.  Might doing this improve my situation since the box wouldn't have to deal with the analog flow and tranlation?

All ADS means is that it will tune into digital versions of the analog channels. This may give a better picture, but if you are having signal problems, you may end up not being able to watch them at all. Unlike analog, when a digital signal has problems, it goes away or breaks up. With analog, you just get alot of noise.
