Most providers in the U.S. will not support or allow boxes they don't own to be used on their systems. If you bought it on-line from someplace like EBay or similar, it could be stolen. Now I get it. Yeah, if you buy a black/gray market box online you're probably going to have trouble getting it activated. The numbers are most likely smudged to prevent the actual owner (cable co) from being able to trace it back to whomever stole it. Offline |
