6412 Series III or 3412?

I currently have a 6412 Series I box that is starting to give me fits after 3 years of use (not bad really).  Should I exchange it for a 6412 Series III or the 3412?  What's the difference between the two? I know that the series III has a fan and an HDMI connection, but what is the deal with the 3412?

The 3412 is a digital only box.  If your area doesn't have Digital Simulcast, you can't use the 3412.

Some of the differences are noted here:  http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/How_to_use … your_model

Of course, they all have different bugs.   sad
