Not quite sure what is going wrong.....

My dct3412 was very hot, but working fine....I thought maybe the fan wasn't working so I exchanged the box for a new one...

I plugged everything back in and now all I get on the TV is a blue box saying "one moment please....This channel should be available shortly". Also, I do get an info bar on the bottom of the screen which correctly states what should be on the channel...The guide works also...Just no Picture..

My setup is a little complex...I run everything through my receiver...I have an HDTV..I use the component cables and the optical cable....

I am pretty sure everything is hooked up exactly as it was before I exchanged boxes..

Comcast tested it from their end and everything seems to be working fine...They are sending someone here next week....

Any ideas?

No ideas here, but I would be furious if they can't have someone til next week. In other words, you're saying you have no TV till next week. I'd be back on the phone.

Unplug the power to the box. Unhook your coax at the box and then reseat it. Wait about 15 minutes and then plug the power back in. See if that fixes it. If it doesn't, I'd go exchange it for another box before I'd wait until next week.

I did all that and I even got another box....

They couldn't come today or tomorrow and Monday is a holiday... I do have another non-hdtv box, so it's not the end of the world....

I guess I didn't mention that I am going out of town tomorrow! Either way my Gators aren't on TV....

Problem Solved!!!

I called my brother-in-law who used to work for comcast......

He came over and did some experimenting...

Turns out that a cable was bad, so he replaced it and everything works fine!

I don't quite understand how a cable went bad, since everything worked before I replaced the box....but it works now!!

Life College, I'd bet. Gators? Hoo boy. Hope they come in 2nd in the SEC East this year. Maybe my Bulldogs will finally beat 'em. :>)
